⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR 2020⚠️

We’ve been working extremely hard to ensure The 2020 North East Soapbox Challenge At Herrington Country Park Sunderland went ahead.

However as time has passed it has become clear that should the current regulations be scaled back prior to the event date, encouraging or practising social distancing would be impossible given the nature of the event and the trackside viewing.

We also feel it unfair to build up the hopes of teams taking part in the event. Encouraging them to continue to build soapboxes with the expectation of racing this year.

With everything said it’s with great sadness we announce the postponement of the 2020 event.

Any teams may transfer the entry position to next year, so any progress with builds isn’t time wasted.

If you’d like to take part in the event in 2021, now couldn’t be a better time to build your soapbox!

We hope to have a surprise in store this summer in place of the Soapbox Event, subject to the relaxation of the current rules,
